Clear Lakers unite: The Bay Area Club of the Houston Alumni Organization will award a $1,000 scholarship to a current UH student from the greater Clear Lake or Galveston area based on demonstrated academic achievement, student involvement and leadership, community service and financial need. Together, we can help: The Escape Family Resource Center is looking for volunteers in Harris and Fort Bend counties to help the organization serve families in crisis to prevent child abuse. Volunteers should be able to spend three to five hours each week working with families in children. To volunteer, or for more information, call Ken Crowley at (713) 942-9500.

Summer Spotlight advisory: With the end of the spring semester, the diligent Spotlight staff will be loading up wheelbarrows, hand trucks and unmarked cars to clear out this semester's Spotlight announcements.
