UH volleyball receives awards

Following the conclusion of a regular season which saw the University of Houston finish second to South Florida in Conference USA, the Cougars were well represented in the regular season awards ceremony held in Houston on Wednesday.

Cougar senior team captain Emily Leffers (outside hitter) was named to the C-USA first team while juniors Bethany Hill (setter) and Debbie Vokes (outside hitter) were named to the second team.

Freshman sensation Michelle Frazier was named Freshman of the Year and also was named to the C-USA third team.

The player of the year in the conference was Paula Araujo of the South Florida.

Bulls coach Perri Hankins received coach of the year.
