Paul Levine, the author of several courtroom thrillers, will discuss his latest book, 9 Scorpions, Sept. 18 at the Four Seasons Hotel.
The event, a joint endeavor between the hotel and the UH Law Center, is part of the Legal Fiction Literary Luncheon Series.
Levine's new book is a story of sin and redemption in the U.S. Supreme Court, sparked by a First Amendment decision.
He became an author after being a newspaper reporter, a trial and appellate lawyer and a law professor.
To Speak for the Dead, Levine's first novel, was a national best-seller. His other novels include the Jake Lassiter series, Night Vision, False Dawn, Mortal Sin, Slashback and Fool Me Twice.
The luncheon's $30 registration fee includes the presentation, food, valet parking and a half-hour ethics credit.
