Golf -- The No. 3-ranked golf team is in the middle of another strong outing at the Ping-Arizona Intercollegiate Tournament in Tucson. They were tied for first with Washington when play was suspended due to darkness Monday. In first round action, the Cougar team shot a 284 for four players.
Both B.J. Staten and Chris Morris shot a 2-under-par 69 and are tied for sixth overall. The Cougars will finish the second round and play a third round today.
Tennis -- The No. 36-ranked UH women's tennis team began the spring season with a 9-0 sweep over Lamar at home Sunday afternoon at the UH Courts.
With the victory, UH is now at 1-0. The Lady Cougars will return to action Saturday in a dual match against UT-Arlington at the UH Varsity Tennis Courts.
Also, some players will be competing in the Rolex ITA Indoor Championships in Dallas over the weekend. It will feature some of the best female players in the country.
