Gun control: The Economics Club presents "The Economics of Gun Control" at noon in Room 119, McElhinney Hall. Richard Bean, associate professor of economics, will be the guest speaker. Free sandwiches will be served while they last.
Cougar Paw: The Cougar Paws will meet from noon to 1 p.m. in Room E-421, Cullen College of Engineering Building.
Free lunch: The Baptist Student Ministry will meet at noon and 1 p.m. for its weekly luncheon at the Baptist Student Center.
Ash Wednesday: Mass will be held at noon in the Main Chapel, A.D. Bruce Religion Center and 7 p.m. in the Catholic Newman Center. Prayer Service will be held at 5 p.m. in the Main Chapel, A.D. Bruce Religion Center and at 9 p.m. in the Catholic Newman Center.
Anime No Kai: Anime No Kai, a Japanese animation club, will meet from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Baltic Room, UC Underground.
Daily prayer: The Muslim Students Association will meet at 1:15 p.m. for Dhuhr prayer, 4:15 p.m. for Asr prayer and sunset for Maghrib prayer.
Human rights: Amnesty International will meet from 2 to 3 p.m. in the Bayou City Room, University Center. Amnesty's latest video will be shown and refreshments will be served.
Arabic classes: The Muslim Students Association will meet from 3 to 4 p.m. in Room 202, A.D. Bruce Religion Center.
Support group: Counseling and Testing Center and African American Studies is offering a weekly support group from 3 to 4:15 p.m. in Room 315C, Agnes Arnold Hall.
Theatre: The Mosaic Multicultural Theatre Society will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Saltgrass Room, UC.
Community spirit: Sigma Lambda Beta Fraternity will meet at 7:30 p.m. in the Rio Grande Room, UC. For more information, call Arturo or John at (713) 928-3293.
Homecoming chair: The Student Program Board is accepting applications for the 1999 Homecoming Chair. Applicants must enroll in the Fall 1999 and Spring 2000 semesters. Interested students should stop by the SPB office in Room 59, UC Underground. The applications are due no later than 5 p.m. Feb. 26.
