Bake sale: Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority will sell sweet treats at 11 a.m. at Agnes Arnold Hall.
Juma'a prayer: The Muslim Students Association will meet at 1:30 p.m. in Room 201, A.D. Bruce Religion Center.
Anime No Kai: Anime No Kai, a Japanese animation club, will show a variety of Japanese animation titles from 2 to 5 p.m. in the UC Satellite.
Islamic studies classes: The Muslim Students Association will meet from 3 to 4 p.m. in Room 202, A.D. Bruce Religion Center.
Halaqat: The Muslim Students Association will meet for the Islamic Study Circle at 6 p.m. in the Lone Star Room, University Center.
Let's kick it: The Shotokan Karate Club will meet Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon in the World Affairs Lounge, UC Underground.
Homecoming chair: The Student Program Board is accepting applications for the 1999 Homecoming Chair. Applicants must enroll in the Fall 1999 and Spring 2000 semesters. Interested students should stop by the SPB office in Room 59, UC Underground. The applications are due no later than 5 p.m. Feb. 26. Candidates will be contacted for an interview.
IEFS competition: Applications for the International Education Fee Scholarship Competition are now being accepted. Deadline for IEFS application packets is 5 p.m. March 1 in Room 316, E. Cullen Building. For more information, call (713) 743-9105.
Test your writing skills: Students who plan to receive a baccalaureate degree from UH are required to demonstrate writing proficiency prior to filing for graduation. The Spring 1999 Writing Proficiency Examination is scheduled for March 26 at 2 and 6 p.m. and March 27 at 9 a.m. Students can register for the exam on the second floor of the Student Service Center through Feb. 26.
