SA candidates prep for upcoming election

Campus parking and safety were the principal concerns among the candidates
for the Students' Association presidency and vice presidency in a Wednesday
afternoon SA election debate.
Ask any administrator or faculty member and they will be glad to tell
you that one of the biggest changes in college life has been the transition
away from a campus composed primarily of full-time students living on campus.
Following Monday's historical and memorable "girls' night out," with
the recently reunited mother/daughter duo The Judds, Tuesday's Houston
Livestock Show and Rodeo performance welcomed a long-time favorite, Alan
Jackson, to the rotating center stage.
UH guard Torrence Botts did everything he could to bring the Cougars back from an 11-point halftime deficit Wednesday night. But missed opportunities and lowly free-throw shooting from his supporting cast proved fatal as Memphis (11-15, 4-9 in Conference USA) beat the Cougars 84-81 at Hofheinz Pavilion in front of a scattered crowd of only 3,419.
