UH's Tyson Schweitzer named C-USA's POW

Cougar Sports Services

It didn't exactly take UH's Tyson Schweitzer very long to get back into the swing of things after an offseason hamstring pull.

The senior leftfielder from Nevada made his return to the field Feb. 18 against Oral Roberts and has been on a tear ever since.

In only seven games, he's managed to take over the team lead in homers (4) and RBIs (15) and was named Conference USA's Player of the Week on Monday after going 6-for-16 in UH's four games, belting three homers and sending 11 runners to the plate.

His grand slam against Louisiana State on Sunday in the seventh inning broke open a tight pitchers duel which UH went on to win, 10-2.
