Free seminar: The Department of Chemical Engineering at UH presents Professor Michael W. Deem of the Chemical Engineering Department at the University of California in a free seminar titled "Statistical Mechanics in Biomedical Engineering & Biotechnology." Fitness Program: The Department of Campus Recreation Fitness Program has added two additional classes on Mondays and Wednesdays from 12:15 p.m. to 1 p.m. Classes are free for students. Come by Rm. 102 Garrison to register. For more information, call (713) 743-9500.

More scholarships: The Women's Studies Program is now accepting applications for the Blanche Espy Chenoweth Graduate Fellowship ($2500), the Maud Smith Paddock Undergraduate Scholarship ($2500) and the Elizabeth Smith Chenoweth Undergraduate Scholarship ($2500). One more scholarship: The Bay Area Club of the Houston Alumni Organization is giving away a $1,000 scholarship for current UH students residing in the Bay Area.
