There wasn't much for UH fans to cheer about during the first four innings of Saturday night's game against Cincinnati, as UC had a 6-0 lead on the Cougars.
But the UH faithful were brought to their feet when senior lefty Shane Nance entered the game -- to pitch.
Nance has not been on the mound since injuring his throwing shoulder at Southern California on March 10.
The senior threw 28 pitches in an inning-and-two-thirds and allowed two hits and no runs with a strikeout.
"It felt awesome," Nance said. "I had so much adrenaline, and I was just ready to get back out there. Other than the normal pitching soreness that comes after a game, I feel fine."
Nance will get his first start since injuring his shoulder Tuesday night
when UH takes on Baylor.
