NFL players participate in the Floy Johnson Celebrity Basketball Game at Hofheinz Pavilion on Saturday, July 15. This is the 14th meeting of the AFC and NFC in the annual contest.

In News Today . . .

UH Police Chief George Hess, a 22-year veteran of the police force, was dismissed last week for "flagrant acts of negligence" and making allegedly false statements about the University.

In Opinion Today . . .

At this point, I am seriously questioning what I have done. Wondering if I am being incredibly brave by standing on the edge of a brand new world, ready to tackle whatever is out there waiting for me, or if I am incredibly stupid by uprooting in one week what it's taken me years to plant.

In Entertainment Today . . .

Based on the best-selling comic book, X-Men is everything a summer blockbuster is supposed to be.

It contains enough action to make Arnold Schwarzenegger jealous, more beautiful women than the Playboy mansion and a plot that doesn't require you to be a college graduate to decipher.

In Sports Today . . .

Enough already. The constant whining about the lost season of 2000 is growing older than those "wazzzup?" commercials.
