Citing the need for change in the UH football program, the school's athletics director, Chet Gladchuk, officially announced the dismissal of head football coach Kim Helton on Monday.

Kim Helton was a good man. Nobody who knew him could really dispute that point. He was kind, he always gave an honest answer and he often provided humor in sometimes not-so-laughable situations. But in the end, it wasn't enough.
