Y2K team to hold public meeting

Cougar News Services

The University's Y2K "triage" team will hold a public meeting next week to outline duties and invite comments and questions from the UH community.

The team of building monitors will be on campus or on call New Year's Eve weekend to ensure systems make the transition to the year 2000 smoothly.

In addition to the building monitors, UH officials have conducted a campuswide audit of computer systems to make sure everything is Y2K compliant and have issued a "Y2K office guide" to help individual offices safeguard their equipment.

Anyone involved in the Y2K triage team, as well as anyone with questions about UH's Y2K efforts, is welcome to attend the meeting at 3 p.m. Dec. 8 in the Oberholtzer Hall Ballroom.
