Choirfest: United Campus Ministries of Houston presents "Christmas Choirfest," a free choir concert featuring several performing groups, at 7:30 p.m. in the large chapel of the A.D. Bruce Religion Center. A reception will follow in the upstairs lounge. Everyone is invited.
Holiday pot luck: The UH Women's Network will hold a holiday covered dish luncheon at noon in Room 323-T2, College of Technology. Everyone is invited to attend and bring a dish and its recipe. Beverages will be provided. For information, call Jerry Aven at (713) 743-2920.

Shadow and Substance: Students from the Graduate School of Social Work will present Shadow and Substance, a play highlighting issues of racism and bigotry, at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 15 in Room 101, Social Work Building. Admission is $5. The play was first produced under the supervision of Edward Albee and has been staged off-Broadway in New York.
Toys: The Society of Women Engineers is holding a toy drive for Toys for Tots. Unwrapped gifts may be dropped until Dec. 17 in Room 103, Y-Building. For information, call (713) 743-4244.
