A shade of winter
In what turned out to be a beautiful sunny Tuesday afternoon, Angie Gruber, a senior geology major, studies under a tree by the Social Work building. A pipe burst Monday in Science and Research II, causing employees to
vacate and classes to be postponed as raw sewage leaked in the first floor.
What do you do with a student like Joe? No, I don't know what his last
name is, it could be Mama for all I care. Joe is a fictional student --
let's say he's in the 8th grade -- but fictional only in the sense that
I made him up. We all know or have known a Joe. Joe is an honor roll student,
his teachers like him and overall he's a good kid.
Two pianists will each present a recital for UH students next week.
UH pitcher Greg Runser admitted to being a little nervous prior to taking the mound Tuesday afternoon at Reckling Park against the Rice Owls. |
