The big moment: Senior Spanish major Theresa Turini gets her portrait taken for the Houstonian yearbook by Maria Bejarano of New York's Thornton Studio. The photo sessions will be held from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Friday in the Apollo Room at the University Center Satellite.

A third slate of candidates will run for office in the Student Government Association, The Daily Cougar learned Monday.


Congressional Democrats have been horrified to see that President George W. Bush intends to keep his campaign promise and deliver a $1.6 trillion tax cut to the American people. Bushis unwavering commitment to the cut and the support it has garnered among the people have liberal leaders up in arms.


Almost 50 years ago, Texas native Alvin Ailey and a group of young black modern dancers revolutionized the way the world saw American dance.


Smiles returned to Cougar players, fans cheered in admiration and everything seemed to go right as UH enjoyed its largest victory of the season, 71-51, Monday night at Hofheinz Pavilion.
