The UH softball team pulled out its first
Conference USA series win this weekend, 2-1, against the South Florida
Bulls at Baseball USA. The three-game series was tied after Saturday's
double-header, but the Cougars held the Bulls off the scoreboard for six
innings Sunday to win, 4-1.
Freshman pitcher Jamie Falco (8-10) threw
a full seven innings Sunday with no earned runs and four hits for her second
win of the weekend. South Florida didn't mark the scoreboard until the
top of the seventh with one run. The late offensive prevented the shutout
but couldn't save the Bulls from losing the game and the series.
