Class again, so soon?: Psychology Junior Medina Mojaddedi takes a quick snooze outside the University Center before a Tuesday class.

UH is set to receive millions of dollars in additional state funding if Gov. Rick Perry signs a bill aimed at increasing the research funding of 21 Texas universities. The bill, commonly referred to as the "Texas Excellence Fund," leaped its last legislative hurdle Sunday when the House of Representatives agreed to amendments passed in the State Senate.


Trent Lott and his gang of bullies are headed back to the minor leagues, thanks to Sen. James Jeffords of Vermont. Jeffords announced his decision to leave the Republican Party last week, claiming he could no longer agree with the Republican agenda.


From the beginning Shrek is an unusual fairy tale with an unlikely cast of characters. The main character, Shrek, is a spirited ogre who doesn't have the best of hygiene or manners. The green ogre lives the life of an introvert, harming no one and staying away from society as much as possible.


An up and down season ended with a resounding thud as the Cougars ended the year Saturday after far exceeding expectations.
