UH to request $40M

UH will request $40 million from the Texas legislature for a new research
initiative that will help boost it up to the stature of the top two research
universities in the state.
Something amazing happened to me this weekend. Those of you who read
the paper yesterday know that I got to interview the violin player Kennedy,
but only a few people know how it happened and what happened afterward.
Since the 1980s, rock has taken on a variety of forms, from punk to
grunge to alternative. There's even a name for whiny breakup rock, otherwise
known as emotional rock, or emo for short.
College sports are ruled by cycles that even the biggest Division I teams fall prey to periodically. Notable exceptions to the rule were the John Wooden basketball teams at UCLA that accrued 11 NCAA titles and the Dave Williams' UH golf dynasty that won an incredible 16 NCAA championships.
