Exercising the right

Pin Lim/The Daily Cougar

Students were able to vote on the UH campus Tuesday in the UC Underground Mediterranean Room. Though a clear majority of votes in Texas went to Gov. George W. Bush, in many states it was not so certain which candidate would come out ahead. Florida's votes still may not be confirmed until this evening.

Observers said this year's presidential election would be close -- but exactly how close, no one could have predicted.
The closest race for the presidency in recent U.S. political history is finally over ... with no winner yet decided. Blame Florida, the state that brought us the Elian Gonzalez escapade and now this, a state-mandated (thank God) recount of the votes. I blame the tight nationwide contest on the two major candidates' inability to prove they are in fact different.
Men of Honor, inspired by the life of Carl Brashear, follows a young man who aspires to become a member of an elite class of deep-sea divers.

The Lady Cougars' soccer season ended Nov. 1 as we fell in the Conference USA Tournament.
