Teague will see action

The Cougars will play their final road
game of the season against the East Carolina Pirates at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium
in Greenville, N.C., on Saturday.
At 3-6, UH cannot finish with a winning
season, but head coach Dana Dimel feels the team is close to being where
it should be. He pointed to the Cougars' strong performance against Southern
Miss and in the first quarter of the Tulane game.
"We get either one of those victories and
this program has really turned the corner," Dimel said.
As stated earlier, Dimel plans to integrate
the lineup with younger players, or players who have seen little, if any,
playing time this season.
Quarterback Jason McKinley has put up impressive
numbers this year, but the senior will be playing his last game for the
Cougars against Louisville on Nov. 18. Giving freshman backup Bubba Teague
more than garbage time minutes is crucial to seeing where UH stands next
"We're planning on playing him early, and
if he does well, we'll play him a lot more," Dimel said. "We want to set
him up to succeed and get this whole team excited of what he can do out
Dimel said he planned on playing Teague
early in the game.
The Cougars will be looking to play the
role of spoiler against the 5-3 Pirates. Dimel expected his team to keep
growing as a team despite being out of the conference race.
"It's all a learning process for our guys
right now," Dimel said. "I think how we come out and play on Saturday will
be very indicative of the makeup of what this football team is all about."
Fox Sports Net will show the game. It is
the first time the Cougars have been on television since a 48-0 loss at
the Texas Longhorns. KBME-AM 790 will also broadcast the game locally.
Kickoff is scheduled for 11 a.m.
