These are not your dinner

Pin Lim/The Daily Cougar

Turkeys at the new children's zoo inside the Houston Zoo don't have to worry about ending up as someone's Thanksgiving dinner Thursday. Chances are these gobblers will be around for a while.

C. W. "Paul" Chu, head of the Texas Center for Superconductivity at UH, was named Monday as the next president of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. His term will begin in July 2001.
Normally, once I've stated my opinion in a column, I let it alone after that, and don't respond to those of my colleagues who have disagreed with me (this is a huge accomplishment for me; just ask my friends how much I like to argue).
The GB is in the house. Before Turkey Day I've got some games you should check out for the holidays.

The Lady Cougars will be traipsing through the Cornhusker fields tonight as they face Nebraska in their second game of the regular season. UH will be stepping in the Bob Davey Sports Center with a home opener win and a much improved defensive and offensive effort..
