Race for a cause: Runners participate in the Holocaust Museum's 5K "Come Join ... the Human Race," held downtown Sunday. Proceeds from the run benefited the museum and eight other organizations.

 

The sounds of mobile phones and pagers in the classroom are familiar to most students at UH -- but few consider the threat they may pose to academic honesty.
The Houston Chronicle reports the Afro-American Sheriff's Deputy League wants the Harris County Sheriffs Department to create bureau of minority affairs because conditions for minority workers, especially blacks, continue to deteriorate.
There isnit much to say about todayis young moviemakers besides "Itis time to bow down gracefully." The current movie market seems to be enthralled with half-witted PG-13 movies.


In the Astros College Classic, the Cougars passed their first test of the young baseball season at Enron Field to begin at 2-1. With games against Baylor, Texas, and Texas Tech, Houston began what many considered the toughest schedule in the nation.
