Card sharks: Junior media production major Marcus Thomas, senior math major Kevin Dikes, junior MIS major Ryan McDonald and senior math major Joe Christianson participate in a spades tournament at the University Center Satellite Games Room. The winners of the competition will have the chance to represent UH at the regional tournament in San Antonio.


UH System representatives repeated their request for additional funding before state senators during a Senate Finance Committee hearing Monday in Austin, but also emphasized the University's successes.

If you judge the Extreme Football League solely on the product Vince McMahon and NBC are selling -- a different brand of football -- the debut weekend for the upstart league was a failure.

The Lady Cougars were 7-21 overall last year, 3-13 in Conference USA.

This year, UH womenis hoops is 14-8 and 7-3 in conference.

Some people may think freshman guard Chandi Jones was the only factor in the Lady Coogs rise to the top -- but sheis just one player.
