No decision yet on Robertson

A decision has yet to be made by the Student
Government Association Election Commission regarding the complaint filed
by UH United campaign manager Jenn Blackwood against SGA President James
"The election commission has not finished
discussing the complaint and will issue another statement when the issue
is fully considered," said Josh Jackson, assistant to the election commissioner.
SGA Election Commissioner John Martinez
was out of town Friday and could not be reached for comment.
The complaint, filed by Blackwood on behalf
of SGA presidential candidate Bill Kelly, alleges that an event held by
Robertson at the University Center on Monday violated several sections
of the group's Election Code. Robertson filed for candidacy in the SGA
elections on Friday.
The complaint alleges that the literature
handed out had "express and implied statements about the election" which
the Election Commission had not approved prior to the event. It also states
that the literature was produced in the SGA offices, which also violated
the code since the facility is not open to all candidates.

The Election Code states that a decision
has to be made by the Election Commission within 24 hours after it receives
the complaint from the administrative secretary of the SGA's Executive
"We only received the complaint from the
secretary (Friday) morning," Jackson said.
Jackson said he expects a decision will
be made by the Election Commission today.
