Student Voice Party nominees for 30 Student Government Association positions will run unopposed this year, extending the party's grip on student political power at UH for a second year. Friday marked the close of the candidate filing period for the 39th administration, and students running on the Student Voice ticket were the sole applicants.

There is, however, hope. The answer to traffic problems in Houston is surprisingly simple and cheap. An examination of the causes behind this traffic yields the solution. Several factors add up to produce the nerve-wracking experience that is Houston traffic, and they can all be explained both mathematically and through common sense.

The Houston Ballet's production, based on the novel by J.M. Barrie, explains the origins of the perpetually youthful Peter Pan. It also gives Captain Hook's story on how his "hook" which is a grossly atrophied finger rather than a piece of metal came to be.

The Houston women's basketball team advanced to the third round of the Women's National Invitational Tournament on the heels of a second-round
victory over the Miami Hurricanes on Saturday night.
