Student Voice will run unopposed

Student Voice Party nominees for 30 Student Government Association positions will run unopposed this year, extending the party's grip on student
political power at UH for a second year. Friday marked the close of the candidate filing period for the 39th administration, and students running on the Student Voice ticket were the sole applicants.

UH may not face reduced expenses

With the national and state economies rebounding from the recent recession, UH may not be faced with having to reduce expenditures as previously
feared, particularly with regard to faculty and staff pay raises, UH President Arthur K. Smith told staff members Thursday.

Students to get deal on software

UH students will be able to purchase Microsoft Office and Microsoft Windows software for as little as $7 this fall semester as a result of a new license
agreement with the software giant, said Jerry Raschke, manager of information technology volume purchasing at UH.

UH mock trial is 'one of the best'

"It's a real honor, because no matter how we do we know that our school is one of the best in the country," team member and law school student Lisa
Norman said. "Since the new year we've been practicing five times a week until midnight."
