Universities need to know the odds when they roll the dice and decide whether or not to use race as a determining factor for student enrollment. The Supreme Court has let two contradicting affirmative action decisions stand, allowing some higher education institutions to enter race into the admissions equation while denying others.


On Sunday, the Taliban offered to detain Osama bin Laden and bring him to trial under Islamic law. All our government had to do was say the word.


If you drive north from Houston on Interstate 45 for a long time, take a left on Highway 105 to Plantersville, take another left on FM 1774 and drive six miles, you too  can travel back in time to the 16th century.


The Cougars hope to send the Memphis Tigers back to Beale Street singing the blues after Saturday's game at Robertson Stadium.
