John Butler, a former geosciences professor and dean of the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, died Wednesday after a struggle with cancer. He was 59 and would have turned 60 on Oct. 31.


Sufficed to say, Americans are a bloodthirsty group regarding Osama bin Laden and his al-Qaida terrorist network. Most Americans want to see these spineless demons blown off the map.


For the past 18 years, Tierney Malone has lived and worked in the Third Ward community, which surrounds UH.


The air might be turning cold and the leaves may be falling from the trees, but the Professional Golf Association Tour will be in full swing when the best players in the world arrive in Houston for the final tournament of the season, the Tour  championship presented by Dynegy.
