Football Update

The Cougars visit to Hattiesburg, Miss. for Saturday's game marks the first of three consecutive road games for head coach Dana Dimel's team.

Still searching for their first victory of the season, the Cougars rebounded from the 29-28 nail-biter against Cincinnati to have their best practice week of the year, according to
Dimel.

"Hearing the pads thumping at last night's practice and watching some guys step up this week has reminded me of teams with a lot of victories," Dimel said. "We played hard for
three and 1/4 quarters last week and we have got to play hard for an entire four quarters to have a chance of winning a game."

Junior tailback Joffrey Reynolds became the first Cougar running back since Ketric Sandford in 1999 to record three consecutive one hundred-yard rushing games.

Reynolds rushed for 101 yards on 20 carries against Army Oct. 6 and 108 yards on 14 carries against Memphis Oct. 13.

"If we can run well early this week, we can throw well later in the game and have a very balanced offense," Dimel said. "Nick (Eddy) is completing passes at a high percentage
rate and that is what we want to see happen."
