Doran sues under First Amendment

Former UH adjunct geography professor Michael Doran filed a lawsuit in federal court yesterday claiming the University violated his First Amendment rights by retaliating against him for publicly advocating the return of a geography major at UH.

Student assaulted on campus Saturday

Two Moody Towers residents were assaulted early Saturday morning in an altercation that apparently began when they had a run-in with a car, according to a UH Police Department report.

Clarification

In the Aug. 27 issue of The Daily Cougar, the article "UT-UH game draws in money" (News) was ambiguous as to the seating capacity of Robertson Stadium. Robertson
normally seats 32,000 people. The recent addition of temporary seating has increased the capacity to 40,000.

Also, the athletic conference in which UH once played was misnamed. It was the Southwest Conference.

The Daily Cougar regrets any confusion.
