Religion a major aspect of war, professor says

Despite the pronouncements of President Bush and others to the contrary, the United States and its allies are engaged in a "religious war" against Osama bin Laden's al-Qaida terrorist network and the Taliban regime of Afghanistan.

Texas architecture on display in exhibit

Photographer Paul Hester gave a gallery talk Tuesday at the Hines College of Architecture Gallery. Predominantly, he discussed the photographs of architect Philip Johnson's various works throughout Texas.

Diplomats encourage wanderlust

Two members of Houston's diplomatic corps visited UH Tuesday to encourage students to participate in international educational exchanges, particularly to their respective countries.

Greenspan promotes energy policy

"Ancient mystics tried to divine the future by looking at chicken entrails. Modern mystics try to divine the future from Alan Greenspan's speeches and testimony," former U.S. Treasury Secretary James A. Baker III said in introducing the federal reserve chairman.
