UH economics professor Barton Smith offered UH community members advice Tuesday about what to do to maintain financial security in the uncertain economic environment following September's terrorist attack. Smith was one of four faculty members who participated in the third and final of a series of symposiums discussing issues stemming from the attacks.

It seems like just yesterday I was composing my column for the first day of class, and here it is the end of the semester already. So much has changed since then. Coming into this semester, I intended to focus my writing on brilliant conservative rhetoric that I hoped would turn this into a campus of Republican voters.

Kid Rock isn't a great singer, rapper or musician. But he is talented enough to meld rap, metal, Southern rock and even country into an easily accessible sound a sound many have copied since Kid's debut Devil Without a Cause.
The Conference USA season ends this week and it is time to look ahead to postseason play. For four lucky teams, that means looking ahead to a bowl
game. For the rest of the conference's teams, it is time to shift their gazes to spring practice and ponder what next season might bring.
