For most people, yesterday's holiday probably meant very little. College students just recently returned from a calendar of classless days. During
those days, we celebrated perhaps the three biggest American holidays -- Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years.

Pacifica reinvents itself

Pacifica Radio is known to Houstonians as the force behind public radio station KPFT 90.1-FM. Pacifica has been around since the late 1940s,
when it was founded by a small group of radical pacifists. Besides Houston, the organization also operates radio stations in Los Angeles, New
York City, Washington, D.C., and Berkeley, Calif.
