Faculty Senate starts new term

Joseph Eichberg, a professor in the department of biology and biochemistry, will finally assume responsibilities as faculty senate president during the senate's Wednesday meeting.
 

'Growth factor' research may help fix nerve cells

New research from UH scientists may lead to techniques for jump-starting the faulty "wiring" in damaged nerve cells, and suggests possible avenues for treating spinal cord injuries, Parkinson's disease and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease.
 

Microbiologist aids in enviroment safety

A UH researcher is working with the oil industry and the Environmental Protection Agency to ensure that synthetic-based fluids used to lubricate oil-drilling equipment are environmentally safe.
