Another hit and run: Sophomore university studies student Andres Gutierrez receives medical attention during the UH lacrosse club's game against Bayou City last weekend. It was the club's first home game of the season.

 

Under heightened security, President Bush delivered his first State of the Union address Tuesday night, focusing on the war on terrorism, domestic defense and reviving the economy.


Since the beginning of time, mankind has contemplated two inevitable truths: death and taxes. Thanks to advances in modern medicine, we are now often able to cheat the former, at least for a while. Thanks to ignorant politicians in Washington, we may soon be paying a lot more of the latter.


Pop, funk, rock and jazz have rarely blended so beautifully. Shawn Pander, former lead singer/songwriter of the band Soular Slide, has ventured out on his own to strive to accomplish the musical goals he has in mind in his new band, The Pander Band.


Houston diver Yulia Pakhalina received her fourth honor as Conference USA Diver of the Week this week, the most for any
conference member this season.
