Beatles songs get worthy makeover

When artists attempt to cover anything from the classic Beatles catalogue, they almost always try to find ways to make those
songs their own. As a result, these renditions usually fail to be something worth listening to, and what was supposed to be a
tribute becomes almost blasphemous.
 

Soular Slid fueled by Pander's blending of rock, funk and jazz

Pop, funk, rock and jazz have rarely blended so beautifully. Shawn Pander, former lead singer/songwriter of the band Soular Slide, has ventured out on his own to strive to accomplish the musical goals he has in mind in his new band, The Pander Band.
 

UH professor brings black culture to stage

In the spirit of Harlem Renaissance poet Langston Hughes, the Houston Suitcase Theatre is a vehicle and creative force for the multicultural production of song, dance and dramatic monologue.
 

UH theater's 'Fool for Love' to open this weekend

Sam Shepherd's Fool for Love is a racy drama about a couple's conflicted relationship. The play will be adapted by UH's School of Theater in the Jose Quintero Theater, the first student production this semester.
