Jones named C-USA Player of the Week

Sophomore UH guard Chandi Jones has been named Conference USA Player
of the Week.
Over the weekend, Jones averaged 23.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists
and three steals per game while leading the Lady Cougars to
A Bay City native, Jones shot 56 percent from the field (15-of-27) and
13-of-15 from the free-throw line.
In the Lady Cougars' 85-74 win over Tulane, she tallied 26 points, seven
assists, one block and three steals.
In Houston's win over Southern Miss, she scored a game-leading 21 points
while pulling down nine boards and three steals.
Jones led the Cougars to victory in each of the two games. Houston is
now 17-6 this season, 7-3 in Conference USA.
The team has won three consecutive games and is tied for third place
in the conference.
Jones has now recorded 10 or more points in 43 consecutive games — every
game of her college career.
This is the third time Jones has received the award this season and
the fourth time in her career.
