Finalist pledges to listen to UH
Cougar band fanfare and a host of staff, faculty, alumni and students welcomed G. Jay Gogue, the president of New Mexico State University, as the "sole finalist" of an extensive search to find a successor to retiring UH System Chancellor and President Arthur K. Smith.

Bullying is the only way out
Yep, we're at it again. The United States has thrown yet another juvenile tantrum and has raised yet another threatening fist. ABC News reported that dozens of countries could face the loss of U.S. military assistance for not heeding American demands that they exempt members of the armed forces of the United States from prosecution before a new U.N. international war crimes tribunal. And what's that in English?

On June 4, an escaped mental patient e-mailed multiple columns to The Daily Cougar. While under normal circumstances, such columns from a man named "Buddy" would have been immediately deleted, these columns were published.
