Getting dirty for a cause: At a charity fund-raising event for Delta Upsilon fraternity, Kappa Delta Chi and Phi Mu sororities compete at Pushball, an annual event that benefits the Boys and Girls Club of America. A soccer field between the Quadrangle and Moody Towers was converted into a mud pit for Saturday's event.

Three weeks after launching the State Employee Charitable Campaign, UH employees are continuing to make a difference in the lives of hundreds of needy Texans through donations.
 

UH students get involved in war
Many seem to think voting is an unnecessary burden, not a civic duty. Students would rather hang out at Starbucks than take the time to go to the polls, let alone give up some free time and energy to make their views known. 
 

Cougars win defensive battle
Entering the weekend in a three-way tie for seventh place in Conference USA, the UH soccer team needed a win over one of its league rivals. And after Fridayis game against Tulane was postponed and later canceled because of inclement weather, the Cougars needed to out-claw the Memphis Tigers to stay in the hunt for a berth in the conference tournament.
