Cougars win defensive battle
Entering the weekend in a three-way tie for seventh place in Conference USA, the UH soccer team needed a win over one of its league rivals. And after Fridayis game against Tulane was postponed and later canceled because of inclement weather, the Cougars needed to out-claw the Memphis Tigers to stay in the hunt for a berth in the conference tournament.
 

Injured Cougars put out the Blazers
It was a mixed bag for the UH volleyball team this weekend, as the Cougars went into two important matches against Conference USA rivals, getting swept by South Florida on Friday but coming back to rout Alabama-Birmingham on Saturday.
 

Pakhalina finishes in first
The Cougars finally come back to Houston after swimming through the Midwest cornfields. The UH swimming and diving teams finished competition at the Husker Invitational in Nebraska on Saturday, finishing in fourth behind first-place Nevada, Nebraska and Drury.
 

Cougars battle Cougars
Major League Baseballis World Series has been decided, but the Cougars will have their version of the Fall Classic when the team is split into two separate squads for the Red-White World Series beginning Tuesday at Cougar Field.
