Library, fee increases on SGA Senate agenda
By Ray Hafner
The Student Government Association will convene its Senate tonight for its biweekly meeting at 7 p.m. in the Mediterranean Room of the University Center Underground.
Two speakers and at least one piece of legislation will command the senators' attention.
John Antel, dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, will give a presentation on proposed fee increases for CLASS majors (see above story).
Antel hopes to communicate the need for the increases and gauge student reaction.
Dana Rooks, dean of libraries, will be there to "pump everybody up about the new library," said SGA President Dawona Miller.
Senators have responded well to the request she made at the last SGA meeting to draft legislation, she said.
A bill to create a standing committee on campus recycling authored by Sens. Donica Beckett, Sam Koy and Candice Idlebird is up for approval tonight, and Miller said several other senators are developing projects.
"I guess they just need a little push," she said.
