Help build the Cougar dream team
Cougar Sports Services
There are no national championships the Cougars can claim. They donit get the publicity of the Texas Longhorns. They donit play in a Bowl Championship Series-affiliated conference.
Though Texas and other former Southwest Conference foes may downplay it, UH was once one of the most successful teams in college football. Unfortunately, the programis glory days — for the time being — are in the past.
Then-UH defensive lineman Hosea Taylor celebrates after a tackle during the Cougarsi game against Notre Dame at the 1979 Cotton Bowl.

But that doesnit mean UH canit brag about some of the players whoive worn the red and white.
With that in mind, The Daily Cougar Sports section is calling on UH football fans to help it compile the best Cougar team ever assembled.
Weire asking you to put pen to paper or race to the computers to submit entries via e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org; in person in Room 151 of the Communication Building; or through snail mail at The Daily Cougar, The University of Houston, Student Publications, 151C Communication Building, Houston, TX 77204-4015.
The rules are simple. There may only be one entry per person, and submissions should fill as close to all of the football teamis positions (offense, defense, punter, kicker) as possible.
The deadline for submissions is 4 p.m. Nov. 8. Results will be published toward the end of the semester. There are no prizes. The only reward is knowing you made your voice heard.
