Shiley Carter

Take a trip ‘down under,i or maybe just to the Richmond Strip, and enjoy the good life at the Outback Pub.

Throw down a few of the Pubis great beers while taking advantage of happy hour specials. Open 2 p.m. to 2 a.m. everyday of the week, this laid-back, casual place is sure to put a smile on the stressed-out college studentis face.

With plenty going on every single day, Outback Pub is the answer to any bored partygoeris prayers. From their six-hour long happy hour running from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday to their great selection of food items on the original Wings-N-Things Menu, this bar has a little of everything for everyone.

Happy hour specials include $1.75 domestic drafts and wells. Pay only $2.25 for your domestic bottles. Buy margaritas or frozen screwdrivers for only $1.75. Want something else to quench your thirst? Well, the best happy hour special the pub presents is $2 U-call-its.

"Everybodyis Bar Every Day," boasts the casual-themed Outback Pub. But who can argue when the place not only offers the extra long happy hours and great specials but also includes a dance floor, a stage presenting some great local and national acts, and one of the biggest covered patios in Houston.

One of the more well-known nights to attend the beer drinking would be Tuesday night, where some really great karaoke goes on (note: "great karaoke" may be an opinion formed only after having had several alcoholic beverages).

Another would be Wednesday night, the infamous Big Ass Beer Nite. Bring your glass for .75 cent refills and either opt to play the "Team Trivia Contest" that starts at 6 p.m. or just hang with the hundreds of other college students who have escaped the wrath of the mid-week study drama to have a good time.

Thursday nights offer $1 kamikazes and $2 U-call-it-pitchers.

On the weekends, bands such as the well-known group The Rachels are always making music for the crowd and getting a little dancing going later in the night.

Mostly playing cover tunes, donit be surprised if you find a few "regulars" singing along with the band rather loudly.

Friday and Saturday nights are the nights to party. So, Outback Pub offers you $9.99 pitchers of Long Island Iced Tea all day and night. Donit plan on getting up the next morning, or the next day for that matter.

Hungry? Arenit we all after having had a few drinks? Well, enjoy everything at the Pub from jalapeno peppers to shrimp baskets to charbroiled burgers to the infamous hot wings found on the Wings-N-Things Original menu.

To get into the Outback Pub, you need to be 21 years or older. Itis located at 3100 Fountainview Dr., at the corner of Richmond Avenue. For more information, call 713-780-2392.
