UH tips off vs. Nike in preseason
By Keenan Singleton
Team Nike is playing the UH menis basketball team tonight, but donit worry. Michael Jordan and a contingent of NBA superstars wonit be swooshing at Hofheinz Pavilion.
The Cougars hope to "just do it" — win — their game against Team Nike, a squad comprised of former college players. This is the first of two games in UHis exhibition season.
On Saturday, the Cougars split the squad and practiced amongst themselves in three 10-minute periods.
Head coach Ray McCallumis menis basketball team will play its first exhibition game of the season against Team Nike at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Hofheinz Pavilion.

Senior forwards Louis Truscott and Jeremy McGwire used their athletic ability to create scoring opportunities for themselves, but struggled at the free-throw line.
Sophomore guards Andre Owens and Bryan Shelton each let the offense flow through them and connected from long-range with aplomb.
Highly touted freshman guard/forward Cedric Hensley did not play because of a sore knee, but is expected to contribute tonight.
Truscott is the lone-returning starter from last seasonis 18-15, National Invitation Tournament team. Seven new faces dot the team this year, including five true freshmen.
Team Nike has been the farmeris worst enemy, barnstorming all over the country, but has been collegiate basketball version of best men, they are winless.
UHis next and final exhibition game is against the Texas Blue Chips at 7:30 p.m. Monday.
