Financial aid requests are on the rise at UH
Twice the usual number of students applied for financial aid this year at UH, leading to a substantial increase in the amount of aid the University has offered.

A University study beginning in July will target both a key portion of Houston's population and an issue plaguing the city and the nation.

Prof, students honored for tech careers
A UH student and a professor were honored earlier this month for their work in technology with awards recognizing the changing role of women in research fields.

Blaffer builds on a Houston tradition
The Houston Area Exhibition has been a 30-year tradition at the Blaffer Gallery, but this year the gallery will defy tradition to bring Houston a show that embraces the history of the exhibition and represents the current state of the local art scene.


Tuesday's Opinion column "America should get civilians out of Iraq" misreported details of Paul Johnson's death. Johnson was killed in Saudi Arabia.

Also, the Page 4 article "UH coaches excite fans about the coming year" incorrectly listed the Cougar football games that will be nationally televised in 2004. The Cougars will play the University of Miami, the University of Oklahoma and the University of Southern Mississippi on national TV.

Finally, Tuesday's Page 5 review of the Velvet Revolver concert incorrectly stated that the concert occurred Saturday. In fact, it was Friday.
