In an effort to strengthen legislative and alumni relationships,
UH President Jay Gogue departed Monday to Washington, D.C. for a three-day
trip to meet with the Texas congressional delegation and members of the
Houston Alumni Organization.

lovers flock to Austin
AUSTIN -- Nothing unifies the masses like music, and
over the weekend a group of 50,000 plus music lovers were unified in the
rock 'n' roll capital of the world for three days of diverse performers.
Beautiful Zilker Park laid the backdrop for what could have seemed at first
glance like any other event, but actually was a lot like that other big
rock fest back in 1969. In attendance were more than 130 bands on eight
stages. The dreary weather didn't stop the peaceful event, and there's
a good chance that no one walked away without having at least one religious
experience.
