After three meetings with Woodforest National Bank officials, the Student Government Association declared victory in its fight to change bank policies it claims hurt students and student organizations.
 

They should have sold biscuits
Last week's racially divisive bake sale held by the Young Conservatives of Texas on the campus of Southern Methodist University has again pushed affirmative action back into the sociopolitical spotlight. The group protested affirmative action at the fundraiser by selling baked goods to white males for $1, to white females for 75 cents, to Hispanics for 50 cents and to blacks for 25 cents.

Despite the tacky neon signs and the industrial, modernist building in Shepherd Square that houses it, open the door of McElroyis Pub and youill be instantly transported to downtown Dublin. The dark green walls and elegant fixtures of the bar give this sometimes-deserted and sometimes-packed establishment the feel of an elegant saloon in Ireland.
