Police on lookout for suspects in mugging

Cougar News Services

UH police are searching for three young men who reportedly assaulted and mugged a student Friday.

According to the UH Police Department, the student was walking to his car in Parking Lot 15D West, near Scott Street and Holman Avenue, when the three suspects approached him.

One asked the student for 50 cents; the student gave him the money and began walking away, at which point the suspects assaulted him and stole his wallet.

The suspects are described as black men between 17 and 21. One was approximately 6 feet 1 inch and 150 pounds, wearing a white shirt, jeans and black high-top tennis shoes.

The second was about 5 feet 10 inches and between 180 and 190 pounds, bald and wearing a blue-and-white plaid shirt and light blue jeans. There was no description of the third suspect.

The three men were last seen running westbound in Lot 15D.

Anyone with information about the incident should call UHPD at (713) 743-0600 or from any emergency call box on campus.
