Lust conquers all in another love song list

Stay Sick

Jason Gagnon

For the beginning of summer I've decided to lighten things up a bit by delving into that wondrous emotion spurred on by love known as lust. We all experience it, so why not celebrate it?

Loli and the Chones - "Rumble in My Pants"

One of the best punk bands in the last 10 years, Loli and the Chones were raw, nasty and just brilliant. Seeing as how "Rumble in My Pants" is sung by Michelle, it's not difficult to figure out just what rumble she's yelling about.

Chixdiggit - "I Wanna Hump You"

Chixdiggit is one of the better bands to emerge from the Ramones rip-off crop of pop-punkers in the early 90s, and that is partly because of their adolescent sweetness. "I Wanna Hump You" is a perfect example of this since it can't really be considered filthy because K.J. Jansen is such a goober to write a song about wanting to have sex with his girlfriend.

Liz Phair - "Flower"

I will start by saying that I wish a girl would write a song like this about me. This song is so dirty I don't think I could even quote any of the lyrics. Liz Phair became known as the "Pottymouth Girl" pretty much because of "Flower," her two-minute exposition of the primal emotions a guy inspires in her and the laundry list of explicit sexual acts she would like to perform on him.

Stereo Total - "L'Amour A 3"

The best electro-pop band on the planet often sings about sex but on this lovely tune sung en Francois goes beyond in that it's about three-way loving. "L'Amour A 3" is a perfect pop song with the dreamy meshing of the sultry female vocals, killer drumbeat and casual guitar strumming along with some terrific samples including a string of orgasmic moans at the bridge.

Turbonegro - "Get it On"

I will die a happy man if I can get the entire human populace to accept that Turbonegro is one of the greatest rock 'n' roll bands in the world. I'm not really sure if "Get it On" is actually about sex, but this Ramones-style, death-punk opus could serve as the soundtrack for an evening of banging headboards.
